Setting Up Your Dog’s Social Media

There are some very basic things that I think every account should do when starting your dog's social media journey!

Secure Your Username On ALL Social Media Platforms

Whether you are going to post on all social media accounts, I would recommend securing your handle on all platforms! You never know where you might be able to make money and what you might enjoy trying.

When choosing your username, make sure it is easy to type out, short and sweet, and is something that you can keep long term. If you can add a keyword or searchable term even better!

Turn ON Two-Factor Authentication

Nothing is more heart-breaking than seeing an account get disabled, hacked or worse…deleted because they didn’t have two- factor authentication turned on! Turning this on secures your account and reduces the chances of these things happening.

Make Your Account a CREATOR account

This tip is not just for Instagram, but for all social media. You should set your account to a professional account and select creator whenever you have the option. When you set your account up like this, it allows you to see insights and track data to understand your performance. Utilizing insights is one of the best ways to understand how you can improve your account!

The only time I would recommend setting it up as a business account is if you need a physical address listed in your profile.

Connect Your Facebook Page & Instagram Page Together

Connecting your Instagram and Facebook Page allows you to post once on Instagram and have it automatically post on Facebook too! This is also really important when working with brands and for influencer marketing platforms.

Dog Instagram Self Audit Guide

Looking at your account from an objective point of view can be tough when it is your own. The Self Audit guide and checklist will walk you through the things your account should have and make sure your profile is the best representation of you! First impressions are everything and having a profile that embodies you increases your chances that you’ll connect with the right people, brands and followers.

This is something I try to do quarterly to make sure my profile best represents me!

Content Ideas To Get You Started

Sometimes it is tough to know where to start with what content to create. This list of content ideas is a great place to start and get some posts put together. You can use these ideas to create all types of posts like reels, stories, IGTVs, lives, and captions! The great thing about this is that you can use this list over and over again. Keep it handy for when you hit a creative funk or writers block!

Consider Using A Preset

Presets make editing pictures easier, faster, and helps give your feed a more cohesive look. While your feed doesn’t need to be perfect, it helps to have a similar editing style for your pictures. I love these presets because there are SO many options to choose from. I linked my affiliate link & you can use “WORKING20” to save 20% on them!
